There's something about picrel and its vibe. It almost takes me back to a time and place I've never been to before. We don't have any huge bodies of water or super scenic locations in my city apart from some parks and theaters/museums, but spending Summer evenings walking around the city with friends, grabbing fast food and soda/kalja, chatting away until nightfall, is something I've experienced a handful of times and really miss. Earlier I saw a thread on another imageboard where posters were brainstorming how not to "waste their Summer", sharing their adventures and such, and it made me think about how not to waste mein Summer. Taking a gorl like picrel out to roam around with me and crack jokes would be my idea of a "Summer not totally wasted".

I won't easily answer your question without a history lesson on the local interwebs either. Back in the day we had a blogging website that attracted all sorts of creative types (which almost rivaled Yli in its heyday), an old-school forum for my city with all kinds of message boards on all manner of subjects, a local imageboard and even our own private torrent tracker. These sites had all sorts of interesting people on them and they would also organize real life meetups fairly often that anyone could show up to. It was easy to make friends with cool people online back then! All you had to do was show up to one of those meetups and not embarrass yourself. None of those sites are alive today, most people here these days use social media like TikTok, FB or VK, and I don't do those. Finding cool or fun people IRL is even more challenging, so I'm not even gonna try it.
