>>152659 A little tired (macabre 40 degree heat all week), but overall breddy good. Took care of everything at workst early and just got home. Weekendst can finally commence. Movie marathon and treats sooon.
>>152660 are u gay
>>152663 What movies???
>>152683 The initial plan was to watch the other two Hobbit movies back to back, but there was a change of plans. Divine forces outside of my control.
>>152695 Different movies or no movies at all???
>>152698 No movies because of technical problems with mein media server and docker updates (grrrr), but it's all sorted now thankfully.
>>152700 I hope you have a nice evening!!
>>152701 Thank you. It's only afternoon and I probably won't watch both movies at this point (something unpleasant always pops up and wastes a substantial percentage of my weekend lmfao), so I'll be back on here, shitposting away, even before the evening sets in. Plus, I wanted to draw or at least watch some tutorials, post about it on ebin on the weekendst and share stuff with Körsbärsblom, even if he is busy rn
>>152702 What are you drawing?? Pls show or at least link a tutorial
>>152704 Nothing just yet. And I guess I just doodle/sketch random stuff on my tablet normally. I'll make a drawthread after the movie and invite everyone! I really wanted to do a Tove Jansson study since her art is based entirely on black and white contrast (no serious knowledge of the color theory needed), so maybe I'll try to do it today and see how it goes.
>>152707 I’ll be looking forward to that! Tove Jansson’s art is so nice, both the moomin stuff and the other art. She really mastered the use of contrast and light/dark. I think colour theory is still worth knowing so you could (in a less black and white situation) get some pretty nice results by knowing what mixing colours leads to (like making shadows by mixing a colour and its inverse etc). I’m pretty sure you know quite a lot of that stuff already though
>>152707 there is an art board, by the way. stuff wouldn't have to be on a 36 hour bump schedule if you posted there. the only catch is you have to speak a made-up nonsense language
>>152709 I vaguely know some stuff about art from researching how to learn to draw, but I have almost 0 practical experience. >>152862>the only catch is you have to speak a made-up nonsense language Ah yeah, the Tolkien wood elf fantasy language Finns speak as a prank when in the presence of foreigners.
>>152873 Oh okay then a quick summary of the stuff is that inverse colours cancel one another and you can use that to produce shading as (on paper/canvas/whatever) the idea is that each paint reflects some wavelengths of light and when you mix orange, that reflects red and yellow but not blue, with blue, that reflects blue but not yellow or red, you create a mixture that has weaker reflection and maybe no reflection at all = black. This ofc doesn’t work for digi art as then your colours are the source of red, green and blue light and mixing them makes them emit a lot of different wave lengths at the same time and the only way to get black is to make some areas emit no light bla bla bla
>>152883 I'm getting very faint flashbacks from my art class at elementary school where they tried to teach us all of that information, and I do remember some of it, but it's been a lifetime. >the only way to get black is to make some areas emit no light Or you can just be a rebel like Tove.
>>152887 Tove’s ink killed reflections silly
>>152889 It was just a smartass comment on her clever and excessive use of the absence of color to produce art with a lot of visual information.
>>152673 Nyeeoso
